It is possible to pamper yourself AND do no harm. There’s no point in putting lotions, potions and creams on your face and body in the hope of looking and feeling better, if there are negative things in those. This is why I have gone with certified organic and naturally based products like Neal’s Yard remedies organic health and beauty products or make my own with simple ingredients.
why I chose organic
Since using them, my face is not only looking better but feeling better. It hasn’t turned me into a 20 year old, but I’ve stopped with itchy spots, congested areas and avoiding looking in the mirror. Age related damage is minimising, my oily areas around my nose are under control and my pores are less congested.
I do a mixture of DIY products, ‘Create your own‘ and various face products from Neal’s Yard ranges. I also use their health products and their beauty products like deodorant and herbal ointments. My partner is a big supporter of the Create range and the herbal ointments as the midges love him and he responds badly to high street soaps and creams.
Ethical and environmentally conscious
I am very conscious of trying to minimise my footprint on this earth, and Neal’s Yard works hard to be ethical. They were the first beauty product to be soil accredited and their factory in Dorset has a zero carbon footprint. Listed is their provenance, ingredients and what to avoid so you can make good choices. Even the packaging and what they are doing about recycling, and the use in terms of their packaging.I apply these principles to anything I buy now if I cannot get hold of NYRO products whan I am out of the country or run into interesting looking independant producers of organic products like happened recently in Namibia.
Based on these environmental, health and beauty benefits, I became an independent consultant for Neal’s Yard remedies organic to spread the word of easily obtainable, organic products that work for all skin types. The more I learn about organic products, the more I realise we need to be discerning consumers. I am proud to say that I work with a company that wins awards, puts their money where their mouth is in terms of caring for the communities, environment and actually being as organic as is possible. Research will tell you that these are rare achievements.
